Larisa Adamyan has a PhD in machine learning from Humboldt University of Berlin and a Master of Science degree in applied mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). She was a member of the data science group at the Institute of System Programming of Russian Academy of Sciences (ISP RAS) where her research focus was natural language processing. During her PhD, she also assisted research projects at the Weierstrass Institute for applied analysis and stochastics in Berlin. She worked on the development of a novel state-of-the-art nonparametric clustering technique and community detection algorithm in large networks. The results were published in leading scientific journals such as IEEE Transactions on Information Theory. Currently, Larisa works as a leading quant analyst in a fintech company, where she develops automating trading strategies employing deep learning and reinforcement learning to identify opportunities in macro-financial markets. She is also a co-founder at Expanenta - a cloud platform that tracks offline advertisements (print, TV, radio, billboards) by using advanced ML techniques.
