The VP will play the lead role in creating and developing the organization’s annual strategic communication plans. The candidate is expected to execute key elements of the plan while simultaneously providing guidelines, tools, and templates necessary for the execution of the said plans. The VP’s day-to-day leadership functions include the continued establishment and follow-up on the department’s strategic direction, as well as defining priorities and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.

In this capacity the VP for StrategicCommunications and Relations also plays a mentorship role to key communications personnel, sharpening their skills, and offering assistance in complex tasks.

General Responsibilities:

  • Build larger global strategic relations, such as partnerships and collaborations, major donors, and sponsorships

  • Foster relationships and select potential collaborators among other organizations and institutions, communities, and individuals nationally and internationally

  • Plan, develop and execute the organization’s annual strategic communication, partnerships, fundraising, and flagship and major events plans

  • Develop new initiatives and local and global partnerships to support the strategic direction and objectives of the Foundation

  • Make public appearances/accept speaking engagements to share information about FAST and its mission with the community.

  • Execute key elements of the plans while simultaneously providing guidelines, tools, and templates necessary for the execution of the said plans

  • Facilitating the process of bilateral negotiations for fundraising purposes with strategic partners and institutions.

  • Build access to markets, expertise, and funding through a variety of events, e.g. forums, conferences, science fairs

  • Attend and manage on-the-ground events of importance to manage relationships, and to ensure flawless execution

  • Day-to-day leadership functions include continued establishment and follow-up on the department’s strategic direction, as well as defining priorities and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.


  • Set clear and achievable objectives, assign projects and tasks to direct reports, and monitor their performance

  • Provide regular performance reviews and appropriate recognition to direct reports, and support ongoing professional development opportunities.

  • Organizational local and global positioning, plan, establish and maintain local and global media relations

  • Be in charge of all of our content and online presence, including the website and web maintenance

Required qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Public Relations, International Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Psychology, or any other related field

  • At least 5 years of experience working in a leadership role, preferably in communications, fundraising, donor relations, or partnerships.

  • 3+ years experience in overseeing all the content production, media communications, and social media interactions by a business as well as creating reports and presentations to be presented to the Executive Team

  • Experience in using audience research in content development is a must

  • Be able to translate technical, complex ideas and convert into accessible and engaging content

  • Strong understanding of the rapidly evolving communications environment

  • High energy, maturity, and critical thinking, with the ability to serve as a unifying force and to position communications discussions at both the strategic and tactical levels

  • Substantial experience and demonstrable success in delivering creative concepts, building durable partnerships, and developing multimedia content

  • Ability to inspire, innovate and take appropriate risks

  • Experience in developing and managing “branded content” – including short-form videos, documentaries, and multiplatform content for outreach campaigns

  • Proven ability to generate creative concepts and proven knowledge of media/communications tactics

  • Strong contacts within the creative industries and up to date knowledge of content developments and trends

  • Excellent Armenian, English, and Russian written and verbal communication skills
