The program aims to create an educational and career pipeline for an AI researcher that starts from the high school level. At the Public High Schools, a rigorous educational program in CS and AI will be introduced to students selected to pursue their careers in this field.
The program's pilot will start in the 2022 academic year and will be implemented in 10-12 public high schools located in Yerevan and regions. Two-level programs are aimed to be piloted:
- The Basic Program, starting from 10th grade, deepens math and computer science knowledge in the first year of study and then guides the students to choose the professional path based on their needs and interests.
- The Advanced Program, starting from the 2nd semester of the 11th grade, introduces Advanced Math, Computer Science, basics to Machine Learning and Deep Learning, and helps the students to gain practical skills and knowledge in this field. This program is one of the professional paths for students coming from the basic program.
Simultaneously, other initiatives will be implemented at the undergraduate level in cooperation with the Universities to meet the further education needs of this program’s alumni. The pilot will last about three years, and the program will further be expanded across the country in case of success.
The program is implemented in close cooperation with the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport and will be in the framework of the program piloting the credit system at the secondary schools. It is intended to be carried out in consortium with other educational organizations and will join the efforts and activities of the organizations around this program.
