Astghik Hakobyan was born in 1989 in Yerevan, Armenia. She received her master’s degree in biochemistry from the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University in 2011. After the graduation, she started working at the Institute of Molecular Biology. In 2013 she became a PhD student at the Laboratory of Virology and Cell Biology. Her research was aimed at studying changes in blood coagulation system during the African swine fever virus. She got her PhD degree in biology in 2017. Now Astghik is a member of Group of Antiviral Defense Mechanisms in the Institute of Molecular Biology (http://www.antivirals.group/). Her main scientific interests are viruses and antiviral compounds of different origin. Astghik is a permanent member of organizing committee of PanArmenian Scientific Forum.
