Astghik Hakobyan received her Master’s degree in biochemistry from the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University in 2011. After graduation, she started working at the Institute of Molecular Biology. In 2013 she became a Ph.D. student at the Laboratory of Virology and Cell Biology. Her research aimed to study changes in the blood coagulation system during the African swine fever virus. She got her Ph.D. degree in biology in 2017. Now Astghik is a member of the Group of Antiviral Defense Mechanisms in the Institute of Molecular Biology (http://www.antivirals.group/). Her main scientific interests are viruses and antiviral compounds of different origins. Astghik is a permanent member of the organizing committee of the PanArmenian Scientific Forum.
