Diana Ghevondyan is a Ph.D. candidate at Yerevan State University (YSU), Armenia. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the YSU in 2019, followed by a Master’s of Science in Microbiology and Biotechnology at YSU in 2021. Her research areas include extremophiles, especially metalophiles, thermophiles, acidophiles, halophiles, and alkaliphiles. She also works to discover microbes, which can produce biopolymers from agricultural waste, which can replace commonly used plastic. She is a junior researcher at the ADVANCE grant program and works with agricultural waste. She is also involved in different thematic grant programs at Yerevan State University.
