Dr. Sos S. Agaian is a Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at the Graduate Center/CSI, CUNY, and a professor at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences UTHS-CSAD. Agaian was a Peter T. Flawn Professor at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), and a Professor at Tufts University. He has made seminal contributions to the theory and application of perception-based computer vision, artificial intelligence, image quality, computational vision, machine learning, and multimedia analytics. His research sponsors include DARPA, NSF, AFRL, U.S. Department of Transportation, U.S. Department of Energy, and private industry. He has published 750 articles, 10-books, 19 book chapters and serves on the editorial board for 14-journals (including IEEE Transaction of Image Processing and IEEE Transaction of Cybernetics). Agaian is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE), the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), the Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association (AAIA), and Imaging Sciences & Technology. Also, he was elected as a Foreign Member Armenian National Academy of Sciences and Academia Europaea (AE) Member. Recently, a Stanford University study identified Agaian among the Top 2% of World Scientists.
